In 2002, Cynthia and David Alpert founded Continuum Marketing Group LLC to provide smarter remodeling contractor marketing for contractors across the US. Their goal was to become the best, full-service source of professional marketing services dedicated to serving professional remodeling firms.  Today they are still 100% focused on providing the best marketing services possible for remodeling firms.

Remodeling contractor marketing experts even before Continuum

Cynthia and David Alpert earned their remodeling firm marketing credentials even before founding Continuum Marketing Group. For more than 20 years prior to Continuum, Cynthia and David owned and operated a 25-person marketing firm catering to the marketing and communications needs of large and medium-sized businesses and associations. Included in the company’s client roster of well-known national and international clients were the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).  Starting in the 1990s, they started working with a large NARI chapter and a number of individual remodeling firms. In fact, the Alperts launched a division of their previous marketing firm that focused exclusively on remodeling company marketing.

Investing in and forecasting the future of remodeling firm marketing

Before starting to work with individual remodeling contractors, Cynthia and David Alpert’s company invested over $250,000 in research and development to learn even more about how homeowners buy remodeling services, how remodeling firms operated and their challenges, the business of remodeling, remodeling firm marketing best practices and how the power and potential of the then-nascent internet could be harnessed and used by remodelers.

In the mid 1990s few remodelers or remodeling industry experts saw the potential of online marketing for remodelers or the way it would change the entire dynamic of remodeler marketing, not to mention homeowner buying habits. However, David and Cynthia Alpert saw this future and they developed a new and web-centric model for remodeler marketing.

Of course, no marketing model lasts forever, so Continuum is constantly updating and refining their remodeler marketing model.  They also know how to adjust it for different types and sizes of remodelers, different markets, different buyers, different economies and so on.

Constantly working on smarter marketing

Today, Cynthia and David Alpert, joined by their son, Brian Alpert, Continuum’s Director of Digital Services, are still pushing the envelope. While providing the best of traditional and digital marketing approaches to their clients, they continue to seek out, identify, develop and harness the power of new and innovative forms of marketing for remodeling firms.

Sharing knowledge and time with many remodelers

In addition to our normal remodeling firm marketing services, David Alpert, our president, has spoken to many groups of remodelers about almost every aspect of remodeling company marketing. He has also been the presenter for many webinars on marketing for remodeling firms. He has volunteered his expertise in support of educational and other programs offered by NARI, Remodelers Advantage, Remodelers Information Technology Group and for Remodelers University.

David Alpert has served as a member of local NARI chapter committees and is a past president of the Remodelers Information Technology Group. He received the Contractor’s Choice Award from a major NARI chapter and the President’s Award from the Remodelers Information Technology Group for his contributions to the remodeling community.

David loves helping remodelers improve their marketing’s effectiveness. David was one of the first people to see and understand the potential of websites and online marketing for remodelers when he created his first model for web-centric remodeler marketing.

His ability to see, understand and integrate all aspects of remodeler marketing (traditional and online) under coherent strategies and programs is exceptionally helpful to our clients. He can do this regardless of whether he is working on a comprehensive marketing program or helping a client leverage what they are doing with Continuum by integrating it into the rest of their marketing program.

Cynthia, who often works behind the scenes, has been the talented creative engine for print and online marketing materials for remodelers from the start. As an art director, designer, web developer as well as a writer and editor, she has been developing effective marketing for some of the best award-winning remodelers in the country as well as helping our clients who are still on the way up grow and prosper. As a multi-disciplined creative, she not only develops materials but also coordinates staff and our vendors’ work in support of our clients. She sees the big picture, as does David, and also has the eagle eye to be on top of the small details.

 

Brian B. Alpert
Brian B. AlpertDirector of Digital Services
Brian is also multi-disciplined and has a degree in computer science and computer animation/ film. The son of Cynthia and David, Brian is the second generation of Continuum’s management team. He has worked for Continuum full time since 2011. He brings new skills, new ideas, and new perspectives. Brian’s focus so far has been in developing and implementing marketing strategies via mostly online approaches. As our Director of Digital Services, he is the go-to person for most of the company’s online marketing and digital services. Brian has received and continues to receive training in all aspects of both remodeler marketing and the business of remodeling.
