Traditional Remodeling Contractor Marketing

Even with the extensive use of online marketing by remodelers, many of the traditional forms of remodeler marketing still provide high value to the contractors who use them well. Traditional contractor marketing encompasses a long list of marketing tactics, tools and approaches. As always it is the careful selection and proper implementation of the right marketing tools and approach that separate what is effective from what simply wastes your money.

Continuum offers traditional contractor marketing services, consultation, planning and support to remodelers for the types of traditional methods we find to be most helpful and cost effective. For methods best done by our clients themselves, like canvassing or networking, we provide sound advice. For some types of traditional marketing, we provide complete development, production and implementation. And for other things, like vehicle graphics or job site signs, we provide copy, art direction and/or design and our clients have local sign shops make the signs and apply the vehicle graphics.

We Offer Select Traditional Remodeler Marketing Services

Continuum carefully selects the types of traditional marketing methods we recommend and provide to our clients to what we find is generally most cost effective for remodelers. Over time as certain types of marketing become more or less cost effective for remodeler marketing, we adjust what we recommend and offer. Even within what we offer, not every type of traditional marketing approach is right for every remodeler or situation. We pride ourselves on only recommending what we believe to be most appropriate to our clients. Sometimes this is a marketing service or tool we provide; sometimes it is an idea or approach our clients implement and sometimes it involves the use of another marketing provider. Most often it is a combination of two or more of these.

It’s What We Do AND How We Do It

Determining what type of traditional marketing tool is best for your specific needs is part of what we do. But it’s not enough to know what type of marketing to use. It’s just as important how and how well you implement that marketing approach to get the best results and highest return. Using the wrong approach or not implementing the right approach well both result in a waste of time and money.

What We Know AND How We Think Can Save You Money

Much of what remodelers tell us they have tried in the past and didn’t work comes as no surprise to us. A good amount of what is sold to remodelers as “great marketing opportunities” that will be “perfect for them and grow their businesses” are of little to no value.  Because of what we know and the questions we would have asked, we could predict that many of these “opportunities” were likely to fail. Knowing what marketing opportunities to avoid will save you money.

We consider many factors before recommending a marketing approach or when evaluating a new marketing opportunity for one of our clients. In addition to considering whether it will be effective for this specific remodeler and at this specific time, we also consider, in the context of their marketing program overall, does this add to or duplicate something they are doing. Is it going to be more cost effective than what they are doing or something else they could be doing?

Strategically Integrated Marketing for Best Results

When your marketing is basically a “list” of things you decided to do, it is rarely an effective or efficient marketing program. It might be working but it most likely could be achieving better results or costing less. Whether Continuum is working with you on one part of your marketing or your entire marketing program, we understand the benefits and value of using strategy and integrating the various parts of your marketing program so they amplify the cost effectiveness of each other. For example, a properly designed jobsite marketing mailer can help generate leads on its own but can also increase web traffic and the number of people seeing your jobsite signs and vehicles, if done in the right way.

Integrating traditional marketing and online marketing can also make both traditional marketing AND online marketing more valuable.
